The Sarpang Dzongkhag has inaugurated and launched “Aa-Paw” ice cream processing plant at Pelrithang Khamoed, Gelephu Gewog on 6.8.2022. The launching ceremony was graced by Sarpang Dasho Dzongdag and Chairperson of the Gelephu Om Detshen (GOD). The project was initiated by Sarpang Dzongkhag Livestock Sector at the cost of Nu. 13.2M and was handed over to Gelephu Dairy Group which comprises of 146 members.
The main objective is to enhance rural income generation and encourage youths and public sector investment in livestock enterprises, value chain development and marketing with livestock product diversifications through commercialization of livestock farming. The Dzongkhag Livestock sector would like to thank Sarpang Dzongkhag Administration, fund donor, RAMCO, BAFRA, Dairy group and relevant agencies for making a long-awaited project a successful one. The ice cream is delicious and comes in diverse flavors.
