Tareythang

Tareythang Gewog is located in the eastern part of Sarpang Dzongkhag and shares borders with Nganglam Dungkhag of Pemagatshel. Known for its fertile agricultural land and scenic landscape, the gewog consists of several chiwogs with settlements mostly concentrated along the lowland areas. The climatic conditions are favorable for cultivating paddy, maize, vegetables, and citrus fruits, making agriculture the primary source of livelihood. The gewog also benefits from good access to irrigation channels and basic infrastructure like farm roads and rural electrification.

Brief Background of the Gewog:

In recent years, Tareythang Gewog has made significant strides in development, including better connectivity through internal roads, educational facilities like primary schools, and access to basic healthcare services. The gewog administration actively promotes youth engagement, women empowerment, and sustainable farming practices. Local leaders and residents work together to preserve the gewog’s natural resources while improving the living standards of the community. Due to its relative remoteness, continued investment in connectivity and public services remains a key focus for future growth.
