Serzhong

Serzhong Gewog, located in Sarpang Dzongkhag, is a vibrant and agriculturally active gewog known for its fertile plains and diverse farming practices. The majority of residents are resettled farmers who rely on the cultivation of paddy, maize, vegetables, and fruits such as mangoes and oranges. The gewog’s location in the southern belt gives it a warm and humid climate, suitable for both subsistence and commercial agriculture. Livestock farming, particularly cattle and poultry, also contributes to the local economy.

Established in 1976 over 30.678 acres of land, it offers both primary and secondary education services. After closing down in 1990, it was re-opened in 1992, upgraded to LSS in 2001, to MSS in 2008 and to HSS in 2019. It’s 55kms away from Dzongkhag HQ.
Established in 1974, the PHC is located at a distance of 55Kms away from the Dzongkhag Headquarter. It is a 4-bedded PHC headed by a Sr. HA who is supported by four staff.
The school, one of the oldest having constructed in 1978, is located two kilometers away from Serzhong Bridge; meaning its 45kms away from Dzongkhag headquarter. Administratively, it is under Serzhong Chiwog under Serzhong Gewog.
