Survey & Land Record
The Survey and Land Record sector of Sarpang Dzongkhag plays a critical role in maintaining accurate land ownership, usage, and cadastral records. It serves as a fundamental support system for land administration, ensuring the efficient delivery of land-related services to the public. This sector is responsible for land registration, issuance of thram (land ownership certificates), boundary demarcation, land transaction verification, and dispute resolution. It also plays a key role in facilitating land lease approvals and resettlement programs under national land policies.
Background
In Sarpang, the sector actively collaborates with other departments to support planned development, including urban planning, infrastructure expansion, and rural land use management. With a large and diverse land area, Sarpang requires frequent survey works for new allotments, land acquisition for public use, and land substitution processes. The sector also assists in cadastral resurvey projects to update outdated records and ensure alignment with ground reality.
