Yoesel Choling Dratsang
Yoesel Choling Dratsang is a Buddhist monastic institution located in Sarpang Dzongkhag, Bhutan. It serves as a center for monastic education, spiritual training, and religious practice under the Drukpa Kagyu tradition of Vajrayana Buddhism. As with other dratshangs in the region, Yoesel Choling is instrumental in nurturing young monks, preserving sacred rituals, and maintaining the moral and spiritual fabric of the local community.
The Dratsang plays an active role in organizing and conducting various annual religious events, including tshechus, lochos, pujas, and community prayer offerings. It provides not only spiritual guidance but also serves as a hub for cultural continuity and social harmony. The presence of such institutions in Sarpang underscores the strong Buddhist identity of the region, contributing to Bhutan’s overall vision of Gross National Happiness through spiritual well-being and cultural preservation.
