The Dzongkhag Administration, Sarpang and Gelephu Thromdey jointly celebrated the 112th National Day of Bhutan at Gelephu public ground. National Day in Bhutan is celebrated yearly on December 17 and this day remembers the coronation of the first king of Bhutan, Gongsar Ugyen Wangchuk by all Bhutanese people.The civil servants from various agencies, arm forces, monastic body and students from various school under Sarpang Dzongkhag participated for the celebration. The day started with listening to the His Majesty speech, followed by various cultural programs and games to entertain the public present there to celebrate and mark the day. The 66km cycling race was also organised and awarded the prizes to the winners. More than 1000 people gather to jointly celebrate and to pay their respect to Wangchuck dynasty. The Day ended with Tashi Labey.
