Attic of a three storied building damaged by fire |

The attic of a three storied building in Gelephu has been completely damaged by a fire on 7th october. The accident occurred at around 7am. The tenants have also lost half of their belongings.
Police, dungkhag officials, civil servants and other people helped to bring the fire under control before it could spread throughout the building.
There was no fire fighting truck at the time of the incident. Police in Gelephu said the only fire fighting truck has been sent to Thimphu for maintenance.
Residents said towns like Gelephu are fast developing and growing. They said there is a need for more fire trucks in the dzongkhag.
The cause of the fire is yet to be established. |
