After two years since it was cancelled as the national holiday the Thrue Bab or the Blessed Rainy day has been reinstated as the national holiday from this year. The day falls on the 22nd of this month.
The cabinet approved the home ministry’s recommendation yesterday.
Thrue is celebrated as a day, which marks the end of the monsoon and the start of the Losar season.
On this day all natural water is considered to be holy and people take outdoor baths to cleanse themselves off the bad deeds and bad karma.
